I miss working in a record store. It’s so much easier to find new music when its passing through your hands on a daily basis. That’s why I still occasionally go to record stores, even though its in my best financial interest to treat them like a registered sex offender treats an elementary school.
I spotted Sun Araw’s LP Heavy Deeds, at Family, in Los Angeles a couple months ago, and put it down even though I knew that any band that featured a ghostly image of Stevie Wonder and named themselves after Sun Ra had to be good.
Turns out they are good.
